Rosenberg says the campground wasn't a KOA when he purchased it, but it had been before. "It still had the A-frame, patios, a swimming pool, lots of KOA stuff," Rosenberg stated in the press release.

Since 1980, the KOA brand has been helmed by Oscar L. Tang, a Chinese-American financier who is perhaps better known for his philanthropy and support of the arts than his campground network.

KOA, the world’s largest system of privately-owned, open-to-the-public campgrounds, consists of more than 500 franchised and owned campgrounds.

The couple decided to list the campground for sale in the fall. The 13-acre campground that sits along State Highway 38 east of Mitchell is listed for $2.1 million.
