Michaels now owns Joann - literally. The craft giant cashed in on the demise of Joann, formerly known as Jo-Ann Fabrics, in a recent purchase of its intellectual property and private-label brands.

In a release, Michaels said it had completed its "acquisition of the intellectual property and private label brands" once sold by Joann Fabrics, which shuttered its last store on May 31.

Products from Joann brands such as Big Twist Value Plus, Big Twist Twinkle, Big Twist Posh and Big Twist Baby Bear will be available in-stores and online later this year, according to the company.
