XB-1 supersonic aircraft smashes sound barrier without explosive boom
If you've been keeping tabs on aviation news as of late, you saw that Boom Supersonic just recently broke the sound barrier with its XB-1 demonstrator aircraft. Oddly enough, no one on the ground heard a thing during its "boomless" cruise.
How Boom’s XB-1 cracked the code for silent supersonic flight
American firm Boom Supersonic’s XB-1 has once again reached supersonic speeds without producing an audible boom, following its milestone flight on January 28 this year. The aircraft is the first piloted non-military plane to break the sound barrier since Concorde’s retirement in 2003.
Supersonic passenger flights with no sonic boom felt on the ground? Boom Supersonic thinks so after recent test flight.
A supersonic Boom Supersonic flight across the United States — beginning potentially as early as 2029 — could be at least 90 minutes quicker than current top flight speeds, while

Boom flies supersonic without sonic boom
Boomless Cruise is based on physics known as the Mach cutoff, in which a sonic boom refracts in the atmosphere and never reaches the ground. This was achieved by breaking the sound barrier at a higher altitude, with the exact speeds varying based on the atmospheric conditions.

'Baby Boom' – the jet that could bring back supersonic travel
The scaled-down prototype, nicknamed the "Baby Boom", broke the sound barrier for the first time during a test flight over the Mojave Desert in California in late January. The small jet, officially called XB-1, reached an altitude of 35,000 feet before accelerating to Mach 1.1 (844mph) – "10% faster than the speed of sound", said Sky News.

‘Boomless’ supersonic flights ‘just months away’ as US airlines rush to order jets that fly twice as fast as Boeing 747s
SPEEDY flights that blast off faster than the speed of sound look set to return to skies as a US company reveals huge progress on a new Concorde-like service. Boom’s XB-1 jet, dubbed the

Experimental jet achieves supersonic flight, minus the boom
Boom Supersonic passed a major milestone last month when its XB-1 prototype became the first civil aircraft to break the sound barrier over the continental US. Less than a month later, Chief Test Pilot Tristan “Geppetto” Brandenburg has once again surpassed Mach 1 in the experimental plane while flying as high as 36,
