The second-annual event is 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Dec. 18, at the Jackson County Fairgrounds, 128 W. Ganson St. Officers will hand out 400 hams, donated by Garcia Laboratory.

The event is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Jackson County Fairgrounds. "This is a big fund-raiser for us to keep the lights on and the doors open during the winter," Bonnie Mitchell, curator, said.

The Jackson County Fair is kicking off the fun by announcing that Sawyer Brown and special guest Confederate Railroad hit the stage on July 25 at the Jackson County Fairgrounds in Maquoketa.

Everybody, have a great time at the 150th Jackson County Fair. Just remember it may be a little dustier this year, but by the 151st fair, everything will be in great shape.
