Two major crashes have caused sections of Interstate 95 to shut down in Brevard County.

All southbound lanes on Interstate 95 have reopened after a pedestrian was struck near the I-295 exit in Henrico County around 1 a.m. Authorities are investigating.

Since then, Interstate 40 has been closed beginning at mile marker 447 in Tennessee and Exit 20 in North Carolina, blocking travel between the two states.
