The Iowa Senate voted Tuesday on a party-line vote, 32-18, to scrap the proposed maps, which would have established new congressional and legislative districts for the next decade.
If the first maps are rejected, the LSA has 35 days to draw up a second set. Lawmakers again must vote them up or down. If that plan is rejected, the agency again has 35 days to draw a third set.
