Florida has removed its two-week hurricane tax holiday and replaced it with year-round tax exempt items.

TAMPA, Fla — Spectrum Bay News 9 meteorologists will appear at a number of hurricane expos and other preparation events ahead of storm season, which starts June 1.

City and county officials in the Tampa Bay area — as well as Florida's top officials — are urging residents to take action ahead of time before storms threaten.
