HOUSTON — The game between the Galaxy and the Houston Dynamo that had originally been scheduled for Friday night was postponed after a 4-hour weather delay.

If the Houston Dynamo or the Los Angeles Galaxy are going to salvage something from their respective seasons, it may have to begin with their meeting on Friday night in Texas.

The Dynamo are 6-9-4 in Western Conference games. The Dynamo have a 3-0-1 record in games they score a pair of goals. The Galaxy are 2-11-7 against Western Conference opponents.

Brian Ching once threatened to retire instead of playing outside of Houston, then took a pay cut to remain with Dynamo, the team he led to two championships.

The Houston Dynamo midfielder scored a penalty kick late in the first half of a 1-1 draw against the Philadelphia Union on Saturday, and celebrated in pointed fashion in front of his home fans.
