The preserve, operated by Travis County Parks at 24300 Hamilton Pool Road, has remained open for hiking. Visitors are required to make reservations for the site for morning or afternoon sessions.

Hamilton Pool isn’t the only Central Texas swimming hole closed for swimming. Jacob’s Well closed for swimming in June 2022, and the Hays County park hasn’t reopened to swimmers since.
