The best foldable phones have come a long way in recent years, but they still trail conventional handsets when it comes to dust resistance. That could change, though, with the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold.

The Pixel 10 Pro Fold is said to sport a smaller hinge. The outer display may be bigger than last year, despite the device being roughly the same size. Google’s foldable could have an IP68 rating.

It doesn’t seem all that long ago that the first foldables were neither water nor dust resistant. I still remember the sand that would slide into a hinge and destroy it or pinch onto a display, causing it to break.
