Fly fishing mecca, the Au Sable River, is No. 1, according to USA TODAY's 10Best Readers' Choice Awards.

This is the second time USA TODAY readers have honored the Au Sable for its fly fishing. In 2024's USA TODAY's 10BEST Readers’ Choice Awards, the Au Sable River also was No. 1 in the the U.S.

Ohio’s Rocky River ranked second among USA TODAY’s 10BEST list of fly fishing rivers across the country. Rocky River, on the west side of Cleveland, is known for its steelhead trout fishing.

HOW TO MAKE IT HAPPEN The most important consideration for fly anglers on the Applegate River is water level. The ideal flow is 600 to 900 cubic feet per second on the Wilderville gauge, White said.

The Breckenridge Fly Fishing Film Tour will be held at the Riverwalk Center in Breckenridge, located at 150 W. Adams Ave. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and film screenings begin at 7 p.m.
