The crash of Flight 255 on Aug. 16, 1987, is known as the deadliest plane crash in Michigan history. Memorial services are held every year.

The 9/11 National Memorial Trail is intended to be about 1,500 miles long, connecting the Flight 93 Memorial in Somerset County to memorials of the Pentagon and Twin Towers.
