The narrow-gauge line, which was traditionally used in more challenging terrain than standard 4ft 8½in gauge tracks, will be installed by volunteers from Alstom, Ffestiniog and Statfold Barn.
The original Van 1 was made for FfWHR by Birmingham-based Brown Marshall & Co. As it was broken up in 1921, the railway’s volunteers built a replica at Boston Lodge, which was completed in 2004.
