This new league is billed as the first professional cheerleading league for athletes 18 and older to give cheerleaders the chance to keep competing after college.

The heart-shaped mascot was named after Clara Barton. A native of Oxford, Barton was a teacher, nurse, army medic and the founder of the American Red Cross in 1881.
