FALL RIVER — Investigators may never know for certain what sparked the fire here, on the left side of the U-shaped assisted living facility.

Authorities are set to provide an update on the investigation into how the fire at Gabriel House started in Fall River.

It was Richard Aguiar, director of the Fall River Emergency Management Agency. Aguiar told him the situation at the Gabriel House assisted living facility was dire.

FALL RIVER, MASS. (WHDH) - A spokesman for the owners of the Gabriel House issued a statement Monday addressing the fatal fire last week that left 10 people dead and dozens of others injured.

Fall River gathered on Friday evening at a social club to raise money for victims of the fire at Gabriel House, and to pray for healing at St. Anne Shrine.
