LOS ANGELES (CBSLA) — The El Sereno Recreation Center COVID vaccination site will close at the end of the day Wednesday but will be replaced by a new site Eugene A. Obregon Park in East Los Angeles.
The park was established in 1906 when Martha and Thomas Hendricks deeded 47 acres to the city of Eugene. The city then purchased an additional 31 acres to complete Eugene's first city park.
On Aug. 26, the Whiteaker Community Council sent a letter to the City of Eugene, asking them to pull the Breakfast Brigade’s permit, and to prohibit daily feeding organizations in the park.
