Henry was elected to five terms as mayor, the most ever in Fort Wayne history. He died three months into his fifth term and less than two months after his wife, Cindy, died of cancer Jan. 20, 2024.

Fort Wayne is reflecting on its fallen leader this weekend. Friday marked one year since the city’s longest continuous serving chief executive, Mayor Tom Henry, died from late-stage stomach cancer.
