German carmaker BMW AG is reviewing plans to reintroduce battery-electric Mini production in the UK, due to uncertainties facing the automotive industry.

BMW has delayed a £600 million electric car investment due to "uncertainties" in the automotive industry. The manufacturer said it will review the reintroduction of electric vehicles at its Mini plant in Cowley, Oxford, and will not accept a related £60m grant from government, but confirmed they remained in "close dialogue".

BMW said on Saturday it is rethinking its timetable for manufacturing all-electric Mini cars in Britain, citing uncertainties facing the industry. Mini announced in 2023 that it would invest 600 million pounds ($757.
