Superman arrived on Earth a refugee from a dying world, adopted by farmers in the American heartland. But as the Man of Steel lands in theaters with a new reboot this weekend, some conservative critics are taking issue with the superhero saga being framed as an immigrant's story.

Former Superman Dean Cain is taking aim at James Gunn’s interpretation of the character in the new film based on the eponymous DC superhero. In an interview this week, the conservative actor, who starred as the cape-wearing hero on “Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman” from 1993 to 1997,
