Dickinson College will officially rename a residence hall and campus gateway for formerly enslaved people who were significant figures on campus at a ceremony at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 20.

According to Dickinson College, 63.2 % of undergrads are White and 5.1% are Black. Students say the institution needs to do more to make minority students feel welcomed.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. — Dickinson College in Carlisle, Cumberland County, will be welcoming 530 first-year students who are residents of 32 states, the District of Columbia and 19 countries today.
