Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic was visibly emotional after his horse was a recent race in his native Serbia.

On Sunday, the 30-year-old was visibly emotional after his horse, Demon Dell'Est, clinched victory at the Dužijanac 2025 horse race in Subotica, Serbia. Jokic, who is a lifelong equestrian enthusiast, was seen breaking down in tears before making his way onto the track to celebrate with a bottle of champagne.

While basketball may be what pays the bills (and fills the trophy case) for Jokić, it's clear that horse racing holds a special place in his heart. After the Nuggets won the NBA championship in 2023, Jokić's father, Branislav, told the Associated Press that he had to persuade Nikola to pursue basketball over horse racing.
