COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football coach Ryan Day quickly went into offseason mode after a Jan. 20 win against Notre Dame. He lost defensive coordinator Jim Knowles to Penn State, offensive coordinator Chip Kelly to the Raiders and offensive line coach Justin Frye to the Cardinals.

Ohio State University's Board of Trustees approved a new contract for Day on Wednesday at its quarterly public board meeting, extending his contract through Jan. 31, 2032. The extension makes Day the second-highest paid coach in major college football, as previously reported by The Dispatch.

Hartline, who has spent eight years with the Buckeyes and led the wide receivers room, was promoted to offensive coordinator. He has recruited and developed high-caliber wide receivers, including Chris Olave, Garrett Wilson, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Marvin Harrison Jr. and Jeremiah Smith.
