Daniel Jones appears to have the leg up on Anthony Richardson in the Indianapolis Colts' quarterback competition. That's due as much to Richardson's throwing shoulder injury as it is to anything Jones has done on the field. But the veteran has a chance to seize the starting job and run with it.

Previous stories mentioned that Daniel Jones had emerged as the favorite to be the Indianapolis Colts' Week 1 starting quarterback this coming September after third-year pro Anthony Richardson was shut down from throwing because he experienced discomfort in his surgically-repaired shoulder in late May.

Anthony Richardson's injury paved the way for Daniel Jones to further his case as the Colts' starting quarterback during minicamp
