Maurene Comey told colleagues in a farewell email that she was fired as a federal prosecutor without being told a reason but urged them not to succumb to the "fear" she said her termination could cause.

A day after she was fired as a U.S. attorney, Maurene Comey — the daughter of former FBI Director James Comey — urged her colleagues not to let fear of retribution "seep into" their decisions and to fight back against "abuses of power.
