WILLISTON, N.D. — The Miss North Dakota Scholarship Organization announced May 8 they would follow the Miss America Organization by canceling its competition this year.

Richard’s was the first Miss North Dakota to win an award in the preliminary round for evening wear. Richard’s is the co-host of North Dakota Today, which airs from 9 to 10 am, Monday thru Friday.

Miss North Dakota delegates were awarded $500 each in scholarship money. Miss North Dakota’s Teen winners were awarded $250. Pageant organizers say they’ve seen the competition grow.
