A tsunami warning was issued for California's North Coast, after a massive earthquake off the coast of eastern Russia.

An NOAA map (below) shows the red zone stretch about 130 miles from its southernmost point at Cape Mendocino near Fortuna, California, to near Bandon, Oregon. The area reached as far as 15 miles inland at its deepest point at Cape Mendocino, which is located about 200 miles north of San Francisco.

A tsunami advisory was issued for the California coast after an 8.8 quake off eastern Russia. Waves of up to 4.8 feet are predicted in Del Norte County. In L.A. County, waves of less than a foot are expected.
