Cowabunga Bay: 900 W. Galleria Drive Henderson, NV Thursday, May 25 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. Cowabunga Canyon: 7055 S. Apache Road Summerlin, NV Thursday, May 25 1 p.m. - 5 p.m.

According to a release from the waterparks, Cowabunga Bay and Cowabunga Canyon open April 13. The parks in Henderson and the Summerlin area are also recruiting for over 1,000 available positions.

On Thursday, park officials announced Cowabunga Bay in Henderson is scheduled to open on March 29 while Cowabunga Canyon in Summerlin is scheduled to open on April 20.

Cowabunga Bay is seen on Wednesday, June 24, 2015, in Henderson. The water park was cited after the near-drowning of a 5-year-old boy for not having enough lifeguards on duty.

Cowabunga Bay will be the second water park opened in Clark County within the past year. The new Wet ’n’ Wild opened on 41 acres in the southwest part of the valley in May 2013.

On Saturday, Cowabunga Bay in Henderson will celebrate Cinco de Mayo with a day filled with music, cultural performances, festive food, and waterpark excitement.

Cowabunga Bay kicked off their 14 th season, opening on Memorial Day. "You can look out and see the smiles on everybody's faces, this is what we live for, and this satisfies us," said Huish.
