On June 13, 2023, the Fremont City Council voted 7-0 to approve a contract for the new audio-visual equipment for the council chambers with tech firm Bizco, Inc., for a total of $282,097.

City council hasn’t met in its chambers since March 1, 2023. Eight days later, fire Chief Barry Finley ruled the city hall fire escape to be structurally unsafe and closed it down.
