About 40 square miles on Lake Oroville’s west shore was under evacuation order for the Thompson Fire. The order covered the communities of Oregon City and Kelly Ridge and extended into Oroville.

Warnings also covered north of Highway 138 and 173 from Summit Valley Road to Arrowhead Lake Road. The fire also caused the Silverwood State Recreation Area to close through at least Sunday.
