As the climate is warming up, the zones are shifting north. Compared to the previous century, every season in north Texas is getting warmer. 30 years ago, North Texas was in zone 7.
These zones don’t reflect the coldest it has ever been or ever will be at a specific point, but rather the average lowest temperature throughout the climate average from 1991-2020.
