Police have ramped up patrols in Coffs Harbour after a 45-year-old woman was attacked on a popular walking track, just days after the region was rocked by a murder and a violent robbery.

He was taken to Coffs Harbor Police Station where he was charged with murder. The man has been refused bail and will appear before Coffs Harbour Local Court on Tuesday.
