The Whale, Fort Myers Beach Construction continues on Mike and Dawn Miller's new three-story Whale on Fort Myers Beach. The original building was destroyed after Hurricane Ian.

Hurricane preparedness items like batteries, portable generators and tarps are permanently exempt from state sales tax.

“It’s the first small business to rebuild completely from scratch on Fort Myers Beach since Hurricane Ian,” co-owner Madeline Boyd said.

The Beach Bar on Fort Myers Beach, destroyed by Hurricane Ian, is reopening on July 4th. The new three-story building is the first small business completely rebuilt after the hurricane.
