As popular as Coco Gauff is, she knew full well that nearly all of the 15,000 fans at Court Philippe-Chatrier would be against her during the French Open semifinals Thursday. Three years ago, Gauff missed out on a chance to leave with the trophy when Iga Swiatek beat her.

Coco Gauff says she has learned the lessons of her last French Open final as she prepares for another shot at the title. Gauff reached the Paris showpiece in 2023 but was rolled over 6-4 6-2 by defending champion Iga Swiatek.

The final in the women’s tournament at Roland Garros is set after Aryna Sabalenka and Coco Gauff put an end to two historic runs in Paris, with the American Gauff breaking French hearts in the process.
