A freeze on demolishing the massive department store on the city's west side could lift as soon as Aug. 7, but legal fights continue.

Two people who were accused of vandalizing the Guardian Building in Detroit are also charged with vandalizing the city's 36th District Court, according to the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office.

Seven windows were damaged during the incident that happened just before 5 a.m. on Friday. A gray sedan was driving westbound on Jefferson Avenue when it began shooting at the City County Building.
