The plan for a new supermarket at a long-empty site off Central Avenue has changed a bit as it moves along.

This conceptual image shows what Flaherty & Collins’ vision for a 20-story tower and a skyway-connected six-story building on the Central Station site in downtown St. Paul could look like.

The site’s new owners started construction in October on a plan to build as many as 663 new apartments, townhouses and homes, as well as playgrounds and parkland, over the next five to seven years.
