Central Park, a five-acre green space in the heart of downtown Durham and one of the city’s most vibrant community hubs, is the latest downtown mainstay slated to get a makeover in coming years.

A carriage horse ran wild through Central Park without its driver, sending panicked parkgoers scrambling to safety – even jumping over wire fences and into the park’s greenery – Sunday evening.

Discover Downtown Johnstown’s president, Melissa Radovanic, says that in April, they were made aware that all events in Central Park, scheduled for after September 1st, required relocation.
