ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Orange County Parks and Recreation officials confirmed they have closed the swimming area in Kelly Park Friday as a result of alligator activity in the water.
The bypass canal helps store and eventually divert flood water around the cities of Tampa and Temple Terrace.
The incident occurred in the 3000 block of Chester Road in the area of Freedom High School and East Hills Middle School at approximately 1:28a.m..
It all happened around 4 p.m. near the interchange of Route 322 and Route 222, just steps from a busy Walmart.
