Apple customers may be eligible for a payout from a $96 million class-action settlement if the Siri virtual assistant was accidentally activated during a private conversation.

Though it agreed to the settlement, Apple hasn't admitted any wrongdoing. "Siri has been engineered to protect user privacy from the beginning," Apple said in a statement sent to CNET.
