A tour boat capsized in an underground cave along the Erie Canal in upstate New York on Monday, leaving one person dead and sending nearly a dozen others to the hospital, officials said.

Mark Dickey, 40, was more than 3,400 feet deep inside a Turkish cave when he began to suffer from stomach bleeding. Dozens of cave rescuers have joined to transport him out of the cavern.
