The circa 1900 barn in Southampton was remade into a five-bedroom residence and a three-level studio and gallery space by the late artist Hal Buckner and philanthropist Dorothy Lichtenstein.

The fire agency said in late afternoon on social media that the forward progress of the second blaze, the Hawick fire, had been stopped.
