Starting July 1st, it's going to cost $1 to $5 more to park at Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport, depending on how long you need to leave your car there.
This initiative aims to reduce minimum parking requirements for new development in the city to improve walkability, rent prices, urban sprawl, and environmental factors according to the city website.
The Birmingham City Commission on May 8 approved increases for monthly pass holders at each of the city's five public parking garages. The increases are the first since 2017.
