The Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife received a report Tuesday about a black bear near Golden Gardens Park.

A possible black bear sighting has generated buzz in Seattle's Ballard neighborhood, with a visitor reporting the animal on a trail at Golden Gardens Park earlier this week.

The last confirmed report of a black bear in the Golden Gardens Park area was in 2009, according to the state Department of Fish and Wildlife.

A solo hiker was attacked by a bear at Basher Trail near Anchorage. Injured and unable to walk, they were rescued by helicopter and taken to a hospital.

This Decatur sighting is the latest of many black bear sightings in North Alabama this summer.
