The state’s bomb squad along with the FBI responded Wednesday to a suspicious package on Boston Common after graffiti was discovered defacing the iron and granite entrance gate to the State House.
State police said they were called to Beacon St. around 3:30 a.m. to find white paint splattered all over the door and steps on the Beacon St. side of the building.
