Australia’s World Cup-winning captain Pat Cummins unlikely for ICC Champions Trophy
Hyderabad: Australia’s 2023 World Cup-winning captain Pat Cummins is “hugely unlikely” to be fit for selection for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy, according to the team’s head coach Andrew McDonald. The coach also said that there were doubts over availability of another star bowler, Josh Hazlewood.
Australia will be without their captain Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood in the Champions Trophy.
Cummins’ absence is particularly notable as he is the team’s captain. The fast bowler has not recovered from the ankle injury that plagued him during the final stages of the Border Gavaskar Trophy against India.
