Arsenal are set to bank over £2.5million by Marquinhos joining Cruzeiro. The 22-year-old winger is currently on loan at the Brazilian club but he will join them permanently, with the deal including a fee for Arsenal. Marquinhos joined the Gunners in 2022 from Sao Paulo after they beat Wolves to his signature.

Arsenal have taken up the option to extend Albert Sambi Lokonga’s contract by a year. That should enable them to sell him this summer for a reasonable fee. Sevilla had an option to make last season’s loan permanent but have not taken it up. Lokonga’s preference would be to remain in Spain.

Wirtz is the most high-profile situation in the market right now; Liverpool’s proposal was worth up to a club-record €130million (£109m; $148.5m) — comprised of a guaranteed fee plus potential add-ons — and may yet increase. A long-term target for Liverpool, Wirtz is their first choice and the only player they have made a bid for in his position.
