The Gateway Arch Park Foundation has finalized a deal to purchase the long-vacant Millennium Hotel, a key step toward an ambitious redevelopment effort in downtown St. Louis.

The Gateway Arch Park Foundation has closed on its purchase of the Millennium Hotel, clearing one of the first hurdles towards the downtown property's revamp.

The Gateway Arch Park Foundation went under contract to buy the hotel late Wednesday. McClure declined to disclose the sales price and said that a closing date is not yet known.

Gateway Arch Park Foundation, the group that has the Millennium Hotel property in downtown St. Louis under contract, had its eye on the vacant property years before it hit the market in April.
