KALAMAZOO, Mich. — The second estate sale in honor of local legend Gene "The Pumpkin Man" Rhodes starts Wednesday. Rhodes, more commonly known as Gene the Pumpkin Man, passed away in December 2024.

For Walt Furjanic, it came in orange. Walt was driving on M-43 when he saw an estate sale at Gene the Pumpkin Man's farm. He found a car – and a kindred spirit. "I never met the man," Walt says.
