Anime like Death Note do not come around often; if they did, Madhouse's adaptation of Tsugumi Ohba's manga might have faded out of the public consciousness a long time ago.

Known as AMANOMOON online, the artist decided to draw up stills from the new one-shot in the style of Death Note ‘s anime. As you can see below, the artwork is impressive.

Hopefully now that Death Note will get another round of success with its Netflix live-action debut – and another string of mystery cop procedural anime series will come about.

Case in point, this year’s Treehouse. According to the folks at DesignTaxi, the show is going full anime this year. It will a parody the 2006 series Death Note.
