A flag icon with nine stars stacked horizontally that sits atop most federal government websites has been used since 2017. It was not added after President Donald Trump’s second term began.

The last state flag in the nation to prominently feature the Confederate battle emblem is poised to come down across Mississippi, after state lawmakers voted Sunday to replace the 126-year-old design.

Many people now claim the American flag on these websites has a new design. Some on social media suggest it happened when Trump took office and that it's a nod to the first Confederate flag.
