Critically-acclaimed vampire horror Sinners was never meant to be the start of a franchise. After some viewers were left wondering where that mid-credit scene could lead the story to, Black Panther director Ryan Coogler has now confirmed that a sequel was never on his mind while making the film.

Ryan Coogler has no plans for a Sinners sequel, which is by design. In a resurfaced interview posted before the Michael B. Jordan-starring film was released in theaters, the filmmaker said he thought of Sinners as a “full meal.”

The director echoed that the box office hit is a one and done film, saying, "I wanted it to be a holistic and finished thing." Ryan Coogler has no interest in turning “ Sinners ” into a franchise and is standing by it.
